All in a Day’s work!
Photo is of Steve Hills a Paralympic cyclist.
I met him on the airport on disembarking at Auckland from New Plymouth.
We were both collecting our luggage and he being fully kitted in his team gear mentioned he was on his way to the international airport to fly out to Canada for a training camp before flying to Rio for the Olympics. He however, didn't think to make travel arrangements between the domestic and international venues.
His relief was genuine when I told him we were sponsors of the NZ Paralympic Team and that I would not be honouring our commitment if I was to leave him to struggle on his own.
The only thing bigger than my surprise at his two huge boxes with cycles was his surprise at my big Ute that wasn't big enough, meaning I drove real slow.
On arrival at the international airport he introduced me to his manager and mechanic who were very impressed with the assistance given to him and very grateful for the support.
